This Privacy Policy explains how ScanKaroMenu handles information when you visit scankaromenu.com, create a business account, publish a digital catalog, or place an order. 2. Information collected and why
- Account details: name, email, phone number, address and login credentials are submitted when you register or sign in, to create and manage access to your account.
- Business and staff details: business name, type, description, address, contact details, staff account details, catalog entries, prices, images and settings are used to operate your workspace and publish your catalog.
- Location: using “Use current location” requests your browser’s permission to collect coordinates for your business listing. You can decline and enter the address or map link yourself.
- Orders: customer name, mobile number, selected products, quantities, business and table identifiers where applicable, order totals and status are used to send, manage and track orders.
- Uploads and AI inputs: images, image URLs and prompts you submit are processed to upload assets, extract catalog entries or generate images at your request. Avoid including private customer data or sensitive documents in these inputs.
- Usage and technical information: QR scans, page interactions, browser/device information and network information may be processed for analytics, service operation, troubleshooting and abuse prevention.
- Support correspondence: information you email us is used to investigate and respond to your request.
3. Public information and sharing
Business listings, published contact details, catalog descriptions, prices, logos and images are intended to be visible to people who access the public catalog link or QR code. Uploaded image links may be publicly accessible; do not upload confidential material. Order details are sent to the relevant business and are available to its authorized personnel for fulfilment and customer support. Service providers process information needed for hosting, backend storage, image processing, analytics and other requested features. We may disclose information where required by law or necessary to address fraud, abuse or legal claims.
4. Browser storage and analytics
ScanKaroMenu uses browser storage to remember your business workspace, preferences, cart and order history. It may retain a device identifier for local history. Some information remains on the device after you close the browser; logging out does not necessarily clear customer order history. On a shared device, log out and clear this site’s storage in your browser settings. Clearing browser data does not delete orders or account records already sent to the server or the business.
The website loads Google Analytics to understand website usage. It can use cookies and similar identifiers and process device, network and browsing information. Google Fonts is also requested to display the site’s typography. See Google’s Privacy Policy. You can manage cookies through your browser and use the Google Analytics opt-out tool where supported. Restricting essential browser storage may prevent workspace, cart or history features from working.
5. Hosting, AI and other service providers
The website is hosted using Firebase Hosting, and account, business and order requests are sent to the ScanKaroMenu backend. Uploads and AI requests are sent to backend services for processing; infrastructure and feature providers may process data in countries other than yours. Contact us for information about provider processing, retention and safeguards before submitting material that requires specific restrictions. Where an online payment option is made available, the checkout identifies the payment provider and its applicable terms; payment details should only be entered in that checkout.
6. Retention and security
Browser records remain until replaced, removed through available controls or cleared from the browser. Server records may need to be retained to provide the service, fulfil orders, maintain business records, resolve disputes or comply with legal obligations. This policy does not promise a fixed deletion period or immediate removal from backups. Contact us for account-specific retention and deletion requests. No online service or storage method can guarantee absolute security. Keep your credentials private, use a device you trust and contact us if you suspect unauthorized access.
7. Your choices and requests
You can update available account and business fields in the workspace, manage browser permissions and storage, and choose not to use optional location or AI features. Email help@scankaromenu.com to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information, to withdraw consent for optional processing, or to raise a privacy complaint. Include the account email or relevant order/business reference, but never your password or full payment details. We may need to verify your identity and clarify the request. Requests are handled subject to applicable law, necessary record retention and the rights of others. Withdrawal may affect features that need the information. For information held independently by a merchant, contact that merchant as well. You retain any right to approach a competent authority under applicable law.
8. Children
Business accounts are intended for adults who can enter into a binding agreement. The service is not directed at children under 18. If you believe a child has provided personal information without appropriate authorization, contact us so we can investigate and address it.
9. Changes and contact
